HELP SUPPORT THE PEQUENO FAMILY IN BRINGING THEIR SON HOME FOR HIS CONTINUING RECOVERY
Jimmy Pequeno senior year at El Toro High School was abruptly halted when he was involved in a serious car accident on July 1st, 2011. Although no drugs or alcohol were involved, speed and inexperience behind the wheel on a dangerous stretch of poorly lit
highway resulted in him loosing control. While he was successful in sparing the life of his good friend, his car was no match for the utility pole, which stopped the uncontrolled spin of his car.
Jimmy was rushed to Mission Hospital Trauma Center with a severe traumatic brain injury with multiple skull fractures, a collapsed lung and multiple broken bones. A medically induced coma was followed by multiple surgeries and procedures.
Over the last five months, Jimmy’s injuries have taken him from a major hospital to an extended care/rehab facility. Due to his anticipated prolonged recovery period, his insurance will no longer pay for his care at this level and is downgrading him to a nursing home facility where there will be limited physical therapy opportunities and the level of care will be greatly reduced. Rob and Angela need to bring their son, Jimmy, home to continue his care and rehabilitation.
His parents, Rob & Angela have been by his side 24/7 since the accident showing an unbelievable amount of love, faith and courage while enduring an unimaginable emotional roller coaster. Neither parent has been able to return to work.
May God Bless each of you richly for stepping up to join in this effort to “Bring Jimmy Home”.
